Berkhof's Roofing is owned and operated by Gary & Karen Berkhof.  We started in 1985 as a home improvements and roofing business, and soon expanded to building custom homes.  The company became strictly a roofing business as a result of popular demand in 1989, starting out with only 5 employees and 2 trucks.  Since then, the company has expanded to 6 seasonal employees and a Projects Manager. We now have a fleet of 7 work trucks displaying our "Berkhof's Roofing" logo.  We  moved into our new location on Aug. 1, 2006, located at 160 Wentworth St. E. Oshawa.  This new site has enabled us to expand our company and offer much more to our customers, such as an outside display wall of all types and colours of shingles available to them.  We also have an office where our sales staff can meet customers to go over contracts and show them the variety of products we have to offer. 

Our roofing crews  are managed by our senior foreman, Scott Taylor, who has been with our company for 20 years.  He is assisted by our second foreman, John Bogart, who has been with our company for 16 years.  We have added a third crew this year, which will be supervised by our son-in-law, Josh Melnychuk, who has been with our company for 8 years.

Our office is managed by Gary's wife, Karen.  Karen is our Chief Financial Officer responsible for all accounts payable, accounts receivable, government remittances, payroll, website management, and all company advertising.

We recently hired the services of Mark Timperley as our Projects Manager.  Mark will be assisting Gary with estimates, contract agreements, sales and service, and job scheduling.

Gary has developed a computer-generated estimate sheet that is given to all customers.  The estimate includes an itemized list of all materials to be used, the installation process, digital pictures(if necessary) of damaged areas on the roof, garbage removal by our own trucks, clean-up, and 3 standard warranty choices.  Prices are quoted under each warranty choice, including tax.

Berkhof's Roofing now accepts VISA, MasterCard & Interac.  We recently signed with Wells Fargo to offer financing to our customers who need it.
